Work:

Title: Copy Editor, Staff Writer Paper: The Independent Florida Alligator January '01 - Present
It is my responsibility to proofread the sports section of the paper on a daily basis. My duty is to make sure all articles adhere to the Associated Press Stylebook. All content, including style, grammar, spelling and fact errors must be corrected and reviewed with the Sports Editor. I am also a contributing feature writer for the paper. Working at a student published daily paper with a circulation of over 30,000 readers has given me the opportunity to work under strict deadlines and prepare flawless copy for the paper when it goes to print.

Title: Photojournalist Station: WCSC-TV January '99 - July '00
Beginning at WCSC as a news editor/sports photographer taught me how to manage my time and pay careful attention to detail in a fast-paced newsroom. My work was honored for contributing to the excellence of a daily newscast with a Southern Regional Emmy Award. After this award I was promoted to a photojournalist. Characteristics of my work entail decisive thinking in the field and a development of trust. Whether it is the responsibility of setting up a live shot in a seconds notice, or working with a reporter to finish a package under a strict deadline it is my duty to get the job done.

Title: Sports Anchor, Reporter, Editor, Producer, and Photojournalist Station: KACT-TV February '97 - August '98
As an on-air personality for KACT-TV, I consistently produced stories of interest to the news-viewing public, anchored sports, wrote two annual half-an-hour sports round up shows, shot and edited my own sports. I also supervised and participated in all aspects of news production. My position at KACT-TV gave me the opportunity to not only present highlights and scoreboards, but also develop, investigate and refine diverse stories - from the oldest man to play organized baseball in the state of Colorado to covering women who play high school football.

Title: Intern Station: KMGH-TV October '96 - June '96
As an intern at KMGH-TV in Denver, I gained experience in putting together sports for a major market on a daily basis. I regularly assisted and performed a wide range of diverse production duties, including logging satellite feeds, editing highlights, writing to highlights, and asking questions at sporting events under the pressure of getting the right sound-bite before the evening news.

Title: Production Assistant Company: Rocky Mountain Mobile Communications February '98 - April '98
While working at McNichols Arena I experienced first-hand the time that goes into producing a televised game for the Denver Nuggets, or the Colorado Avalanche during the playoffs. My duties included running tape, escorting players to designated interview rooms, connecting various feeds, and cueing up high-lights for instant replay. I left Mountain Mobile with a better understanding of the preparation that goes into broadcasting from a live remote location.
