My Friends: A Photo Scrapbook

My friends are some of the most important and influential people in my life. As a "twenty-something", I can get frustrated and confused about who I am and where my life is headed. My friends not only keep me grounded, they also keep me laughing. I can relax and have fun with my friends, and that is a wonderful release from my tough routine of work and school.

My friends and I like to e-mail each other notes, poems and cards. I love recieving them in my mailbox and I print them out and tape them ton my bulliten board on my desk.
My favorite piece of mail was a poem sent by my best friend, Nicole:

"Oath To My Friend"

When you are sad, I will get you drunk and help you plot revenge against the scum-sucking bastard who made you sad.
When you are scared, I will laugh at you and tease you about it every chance I get. Then I will make sure you know you're never alone.
When you are worried, I will tell you how much worse it could be and to quit complaining. Then I will hug you and tell you it will be OK.
When you are confused, I will use little words to explain it to you.
And when you are lost, I will answer my cell phone and give you directions.
When you are sick, I will hold your hair while you pay homage to the porcelain god.
When you fall, I will point and laugh at you. Then I will hold out my hand and help you up.
This is my oath: I pledge to the end. Why? you ask. Because you're my friend. The whole reason people have friends is to have fun, and to know that even in your darkest hour, you are never alone.

Allison is one of my best friends. She went with me on several of my roadtrips. The two of us like to get away for the weekend to the beach or the mountains as much as possible. This picture was taken in Crystal River over the Memorial Day weekend of 2000.

Stacey, Meriam, Nicole Mayer and Nicole Cugno came with me to The Melting Pot for my birthday dinner. We all stuffed ourselves like Thanksgiving turkeys! This picture was taken at our table in The Melting Pot.

I went to the Florida vs. Georgia football game in Jacksonville with Marla, Nicole Cugno and Nicole Mayer. There were thousands of Gator fans screaming for our team in a string of crowded sports bars. It was great. . . and the Gators won! This picture was taken in the sports bar where we watched the football game.
