A pic of me

About Me

Born and raised in Miami, Fla., I am a proud journalism student at the University of Florida, home of the national champion Florida Gators. I chose to study at UF not only because of its renown as a great state school but also to follow in my dad's footsteps. A die hard Gator, he attended undergraduate school here at UF and graduated from UF's Levin College of Law in 1952. I have been in Gainesville for close to three years, and I love everything about life in a college town.

My passion for the written word has led me to a major in journalism with a specialty in reporting. I thrive on the fast-paced nature of newswriting, and I think there is no better feeling than writing a great story. At the same time, I realize that much of print journalism is a constant learning process. I'm excited to absorb as much as I can in the hopes of becoming a better writer.

After graduating in May of 2008, I'm looking forward to obtaining a reporting or editing position with a quality publication. Entertainment, the arts, society and culture are the topics I enjoy writing about the most. I hope to find a job in which I can tackle interesting and provocative subjects.

In the meantime, however, I'm looking for an internship with a newspaper, magazine, or publishing company. I'm eager to gain the on-the-job experience that will best prepare me for a career in print journalism.

Other than attending school and working part time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
