Fitness

As I mentioned in my Bio I love to work out. I've been a member of the Gainesville Health and Fitness Center since 1997 and my favorite exercises are lifting free weights and doing aerobics classes, but lately I've been taking McDougal for runs around this pond near Justin's house.

Movies and Music

I love to watch movies. I prefer the theatre because when I'm curled up on my couch there's very little that can keep me awake. However, I'm still a big fan of Netflix I can't believe my grandmother told me about them!

Fav's right now:

I also love music. I think it goes back to my dad's eclectic taste in music and his insistence on staying involved with the school band (yes, I'm a band nerd).

Fav's right now:

I know you're wondering how the heck I could like Mariah Carey with those being my favorites right now. I can't even begin to explain. I'll just leave that one alone!

Sunday Dinner

Every Sunday, my sister and I drive the 5 miles to my parent's house to have dinner as a family. Most of the time, our boyfriends come too. It's always an entertaining evening with a gourmet menu and bottomless wine glasses. It's just hard to get up for class on Monday morning. Bummer.

Volunteering

Margy, Christie, and I after the race

In January 2006, I completed my first (and only) marathon. It was beyond excrutiating. I trained for five months with the Team in Training Program of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This program trains athletes at all levels to complete a marathon, triathlon or 100-mile bike ride while raising money towards the Society's mission which is to cure leukemia and other blood cancers. It was hard, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. I encourage everyone I know to get involved. If your interested in participating you should check out the Team in Training Web site.
