Puerto Rico

beach in aguadilla

With my family being from Puerto Rico, we have traveled to the island quite a bit. We try to make it back atleast once every year to visit our relatives, including both sets of grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who still live there. When we do have the opportunity go back, we usually shy away from the metropolitan area of San Juan and stay in either MayagŁez, my father's home town, or Aguadilla, my mother's home town.

Costa Rica

sunset in Dominical, Costa Rica

In August of 2005 I had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica. I went with my brother, his girlfriend and a couple of her friends. We stayed in Dominical and Jaco, on the Pacific coast. We took advantage of the consistent surf, the reason we made the trip in the first place, and surfed every day. It was my first time out of the country and I plan to return and explore the Carribean coast.

St. Thomas

Maho Bay, St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

While I was with my family in Puerto Rico in the summer of 2006, we decided to hop over to the nearby island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We stayed at an eco-resort called Maho Bay, where we stayed in eco-tents on a hill side overlooking the bay. We spent 5 days there and snorkeled and hiked every day. I recommend it to anyone who likes the outdoors.
