Friends

My friends are a huge part of my life. I've stayed in close contact with my best friends from high school, and I've met amazing people since starting the University of Florida. My friends are hilarious, loud and outgoing. They're my support system, and I don't know what I would do without them!

Me and my roommates, Danielle and Amy

I met both my roommates fall semester of my freshman year. Danielle and I met through an Honors class, Amy and I met through a dance company, and it turned out that they both knew each other from middle school. We decided to live together, and we have so much fun together. Danielle is my best friend, and we always joke around that we're a married couple, because we're always together. I love talking to her, because we never run out of things to say. Amy is fun-loving and one of the friendliest people I've ever met. She's super busy, so I don't get to see her as often as I would like to. All three of us are alike is so many ways, but our personalities are so different. Our apartment is one of the most random places I've ever seen. We never finished decorating, even though we've lived in our apartment for almost eight months. There's tons of microwavable food in the pantry, and there are peacock feathers sitting on our end table. Danielle, Amy and I have a lot of fun living together. We just signed our lease again for next year - so I'm looking forward to that!

Student Honors Organization Officers

My freshman year of college I got involved with the Student Honors Organization. SHO is the on-campus representative for the 2,000 Honors students at UF, so it was really fun getting to organize events and meet new people. I was on the Social Committee my freshman year, and we planned events like ice cream socials, casino nights and bedtime breakfasts. I got to be a pro at ordering and catering food to a bunch of hungry students. This year, my sophomore year, I was elected secretary. As secretary, I keep track of all the events SHO does - there are at least two a week - and I take minutes at our weekly meetings. I've gotten so close with the rest of the SHO officers. We all work well together, and I've learned so much from them. We always get together even if there aren't meetings or events to be at, and I can never stop laughing when I'm around them. We're self-proclaimed dorks. Even though we all won't be officers next year, I know that I'll stay in touch with them. They've become some of my closest friends at UF.

Honors Ambassadors

The spring semester of my freshman year, I became involved with Honors Ambassadors. Honors Ambassadors recruit prospective Honors freshman through different events throughout the year. I have never met a group of people so crazy, so warm and so friendly! They immediately welcomed me into their group, and even since then, I have had a blast. My mentor in Honors Ambassadors is my friend Colleen. She was one of the first people who made me feel truly comfortable at UF, and she is now one of my closest friends. I trust her completely. All the other students who joined my same year have a special bond. The picture to the left is our grade doing a pyramid, one of our trademark inside jokes. I love all the Honors Ambassadors because they have such respect for academics, they're true Gators fans. I have been able to meet so many new people because of this group, and it really taught me how to be proud of myself and of UF. The people in Honors Ambassadors push you to be involved on campus and to reach for whatever career goals you want. They are truly inspirational and I'm proud to call them my friends.
