I proudly consider myself a geek. In fact, I even write about nerd culture on my blog Geek Girl Gazette. My interest in geeky media stems from my status as a media omnivore. I don't care if it's a TV show, web show, book, comic, magazine or cave painting, if it grabs my interest I'll be all over it like print on newspaper. However, there are a few things that I especially like...
Reading: Since I was little I've always loved books. I can waste hours in a library. I'm not picky about genres so I'll read just about anything as long as the plot grabs me. Some of my favorite authors are Meg Cabot, Suzanne Collins, Michael Crichton and Agatha Christie.
Besides books, I also enjoy reading comics. I'm a fan of both American superhero comics and Japanese comics. Some of my favorite series are "Fables," "Booster Gold" and "Fullmetal Alchemist."
Television: I probably watch more TV than I should. I like comedy series such as "How I Met Your Mother" and "Scrubs." I've also started watching Korean TV dramas and have become completely addicted. Some of my favorites are the action series "City Hunter" and the supernatural crime drama "Vampire Prosecutor."
Other stuff: Since I started living on my own I've become very interested in cooking. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes with eating something you made with your own two hands. Some of my favorite recipes are black bean soup and palak paneer.
When I have time, I also enjoy writing fiction. I've participated in National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo) every November since my senior year of high school.
