I learned to work with various forms of media in my classes at the University of Florida. I use these multimedia skills in my professional work.
I learned proper video editing techniques in my multimedia reporting class.
I write, anchor and edit 90-second news videos for WUFT.org as part of my online news class. I edit my videos using Final Cut Pro Academic. My first video can be seen by clicking the link below.http://www.wuft.org/news/2012/10/04/news-in-90-october-4-2012/
Another example of my film work is the video I shot for Florida Online, a blog I edit for the UF Foundation, the university's fundraising branch. The story is about a game played almost every semester at UF.
I shot the video with my Kodak EasyShare Z1485 IS point-and-shoot camera and edited the video with Windows Movie Maker. The video can be seen at the link below.http://magazine.ufl.edu/2012/04/humans-vs-zombies-infects-uf/
I learned to use the Soundslides audio-slideshow editing program in my writing for mass communication and multimedia reporting classes.
An example of my Sounslide work is a Florida Online blog post I made about a dinosaur exhibit moving to the Florida Museum of Natural History.
I recorded the audio and edited it in the Audacity sound editor. Photographer Kristen Grace provided the photos.
The article can be seen at the link below.http://magazine.ufl.edu/2012/04/riding-with-dinosaurs/
A Soundslides presentation I made about a traffic safety event hosted by The Dori Slosberg Foundation was published online by the nonprofit organization.
I snapped the photos and recorded the audio. I edited the audio in Audactiy. The presentation can be seen at the link below.http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22645681/millwardw_soundslides4/index.html
