About Jessica

Jessica Michelle Ferralls (born May 10, 1990) is currently a full-time student at the University of Florida. She was born in Hialeah, Florida to Pedro Ferralls and Annette Ferralls. She moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of 19 where she took on the role of a Cast Member in the Disney College Program. Jessica graduated in 2011 from Miami Dade College with a degree in Mass Communication & Journalism. Now as a Florida Gator, she is majoring in Telecommunication on the Media & Society track with a concentration on Travel & Tourism Planning. When Jessica is not in class, she is at practice with the Pride of the Sunshine Band as a Florida Visual Ensemble member.

Recently, she joined the College of Journalism and Telecommunication's newest organization, the UF Media & Society Club.

Ferralls became interested in studying Telecommunication after falling in love with baseball during her high school years. She grew up playing softball and soccer, but never had an interest in watching sports until she got older. As she started watching Major League Baseball, she became intrigued with the clubhouse reporters and the play-by-play announcers. She then began to watch National Football League games and National Basketball Association games. After discovering how exhilarating sports were to her and how great it would be to be involved in the action, she was hooked and absolutely positive that she wanted to pursue a career in Telecommunication.

Some of Jessica's hobbies include tweeting, hanging out with friends, watching sporting events, eating and listening to music. One of her newest favorite things to do is sleep since she is constantly working on something.

One of Jessica’s favorite memories includes working for the Walt Disney Company in 2010. She was given the opportunity to be a Cast Member in a Downtown Disney store called Team Mickey. In her time there she was able to interact with guests and fellow Cast Members from all over the world, become experienced in different retail positions, and attend events such as ESPN The Weekend and Major League Baseball Spring Training games.
