I always loved to cook. My mom is a wonderful cook and has taught me many of her recipes. After coming to college, I started to truly appreciate the art of cooking.
I still have to follow a recipe, but am slowly becoming adventurous enough to create recipes of my own. I took my first cooking class while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I must say, I never knew how much time went into making homemade pasta! We learned to make ricotta and spinach stuffed ravioli with a homemade cream sauce.
Since I returned home from Italy, I have tried to cook many more homemade meals, including chicken primavera, chicken parmesan, taquitos, meatballs and much more. Not all of my meals have turned out perfectly, but my skills continually improve.
Favorite meal: If I had to pick a favorite meal, it would be my chicken taquitos. They are out of this world.
I was never an athletic child. I started dancing and gymnastics at a young age and neither seemed to be my calling.
In middle school, I got involved in theatre as part of the "Arts Rotational Program" at my school. Since then, I have been involved in every theatre program and competition my school offered.
In high school, I was involved in each of our spring musicals including, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, Fiddler on the Roof and Grease. I also competed in the yearly thespian competitions.
I love the thrill of performing in front of people and the rush you get when you know you nailed your performance. Theatre helped make me a confident individual, and I am thankful my school offered the option to participate in theatre. In college, I have taken some theatre courses and continue to see plays and musicals as often as I can.
Favorite musical: Guys and Dolls is my favorite show that I have participated in. The music and dances are so fun!
