A Slice of Ben

"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then I want to go where they went"- Will Rogers

Whats a boy without his dog? Well for me this would be almost impossible to imagine. For the last two-and-a-half years I've been blessed to be accompained everywhere by my faithful companaion Captain Chronicles. Cappy, as I like to call him, is a papillion. I have so far taught him nearly two dozen commands including 'dance', 'roll-over' and 'get in your bed'. He enjoys chasing minows in shallow water, long car rides out the window and prancing about like a prince.

A Brief History of Papillions

The word papillion is French for butterfly. The breed receives its namesake from the characterically long, butterly-like hairs on it ears. Unbeknownst to many, the papillion is the fifth most intelligent breed of dog in the world. The breed was a favorite of Marie Antoinette, who reportidly brought her papillion to the guillotine to witness her execution.
