It was sometime in high school that I became interested in photography. My dad's Nikon SLR film camera sparked my fire to ask for a camera as a Christmas gift one year. I guess my parents knew that I had an eye for pictures. It was my first camera, a Nikon N65, which showed me the amazing world of f-stops and shutters speeds. In high school, photo class was not offered during the school year. So, up until now I have been self-taught.

Currently I am a photojournalism student at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications. This is my first semester taking a photojournalism class. The assignments have been a bit of a challenge, but I love having a class that revolves around my passion in life. This summer I got a digital SLR. Now shoot pictures with my Nikon D70s. The digital world of photography is amazing to work it, and I love it.

I'm not exactly sure what my future in photojournalism looks like as of now. I would love to have a photo internship at a local newspaper to gain professional experience before I enter the real world. After college, I plan to travel and take pictures and somehow get paid for it. No matter what happens, photography will always be a big of my life.
