I first attended Miami Killian High School and then graduated in 1998 from Gainesville High School (How 'bout them Purple Hurricanes!) I was a cheerleader at Killian and at GHS, although I quit GHS because of several reasons. The main reason being that the coach told us we all had to bake the football team cookies for each game. I was not cool with that. Especially since all the football players and cheerleaders weren't even that nice. During high school I met Kassi, my best girl friend. She is one of the coolest girls around. We've had several crazy times together, good and bad, but all our experiences have brought us even closer. I haven't really kept in touch with many people from back in the day, but Kas will always be around. Oh, dry your eyes! Don't worry, the sappiness stops here.
I'm now a senior at UF majoring in Public Relations and will be graduating in May 2003. I'm a member of PRSSA(Public Relations Student Society of America) and FPRA(Florida Public Relations Association.) I've been a member of PRSSA since my sophmore year and am currently the Networking Director, which means I'm the liason between our chapter and other chapters, organizations and community members. Although a lot of people become PR majors because they assume it's easy, I actually enjoy my major. I can't wait to start my career in public relations, which will hopefully be soon after I graduate. I'm ready to enter the "real world" and to start getting a real paycheck! I do hope to take a nice trip before I actually start working though. Maybe to Costa Rica, where I have family, or to Europe. We'll just have to wait and see!
I currently work at the Florida Museum of Natural History where I am the Public Relations Intern. I've just recently started this job and I love it! My whole working career thus far has been spent waiting tables. So, to be able to work and get paid to do something that I actually have an interest in is amazing!
Although I've had plenty of good times here in G-ville, I can't begin to explain my excitement about getting out of here!! When I leave Gainesville, I'll be moving to Jacksonville, Fla. for a short amount of time. That's because that's where my wonderful boyfriend, Ryan, is. I say a short amount of time because I definitely want to move to a more metropolitan area. I'm sort of stuck on San Diego, Ca. right now, although I'm not sure if I'll really go because of the distance. But, I do know that wherever I am, I'll be sure to have a good time! Alright, well that's enough history about me. Check out the rest of my site to see some pictures of the people in my life as well as some recipes that are perfect for a get-together with some friends!
