Like most Hispanic families I am extremly close to my parents. I miss them very much, I haven't seen them since the beggining of Fall. Ok, maybe it isn't that much time but when you have such a strong bond and don't have the option of visiting whenever you want, you'll yearn to see them. My father, Tomas Hernandez Vargas, is a realtor. He has taught me that eventhough life is tought you will acomplish anything if you focus on your goals. Through him I've also learned that nothing is as bad as it seems. A problem at that moment may seem as monumental but as time passes it doesn't seem as horrendous.

My mother, Iris M Montalvo, a homemaker, hasn't only been my support through life, but she also is my best friend. She has taught me that the most important thing in life is to have faith in yourself and in God. Through her daily examples I've seen how important is to help others without expecting anything in return. If I could be half of the woman my mother is, with her elegance, integrity and natural carisma I will feel very accomplished as a human being.
