"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make"

-The Beatles

Family is a big part of my life.

My mom has recently grown to become a best friend of mine, especially since I've been in college. I miss her and my step-dad (and his cooking!) a lot while away at school.

While my parents are divorced, I still try to see my dad as often as possible. He is probably the wisest person I know. Our favorite thing to do together is to have some coffee and discuss life, politics, etc. I always miss our talks. I also have one older brother, 27, who I've gotten closer to over the years as well. He is someone I can always depend on, or at the least have a good laugh with, and am very lucky to have in my life.

In this old photo, my dad, brother, and I were playing around with the self-timer on my dad's new digital camera.

I was raised to believe that family was to always be a top priority in my life. Not just immediate family, I'm talking aunts, uncles, second cousins, etc.

When I lived in Colombia, all my mom's family would get together on Sunday evenings just to catch up on the weeks events and so all the kids could play. I was really close to all my cousins, so it was very difficult when I had to move to America.

Luckily, I still go back to Colombia to visit and they come to South Florida to visit me as well.

In the photo above, my mom, aunts, grandma, and cousin, were rejoicing in our reunion in Colombia.
