Rex Grossman was born on August 23, 1980 in Bloomington,
Indiana to However, Rex did have his eye on UF even if its eye wasn't on him.

Upon seeing Grossman's highlight reel, Coach Spurrier became very involved Last year, Rex
became embroiled in a quarterback controversy with Brock Berlin, the former National
High School Player of the Year. While all of the hype surrounded Berlin, it was Rex
who won the job in the summer and never let it go, leading Florida to a 10-2 record
and a 56-23 Orange Bowl win over Maryland. Now, with the transfer of Brock Berlin
to Miami, Rex comes into the season for the first time with no foreseeable competition
for his job. He also comes in as the leading Heisman votegetter among players returning to
college.
