I have always had a passion for sports, and during my time at UF, I developed a passion for sports writing. I’ve been a sports writer for the Independent Florida Alligator for a little more than a year. I’ve covered UF soccer, tennis and cross country in that time. I’ve also interned for the Florida Times-Union/Jacksonville.com for the past two summers, and I’m currently blogging for Jacksonville.com. Check out Swamp Scoop for more on my blog.
What I’ve found through my experiences so far is that I want to pursue a career in a journalism or media-related field. Through this course (MMC 3260 Communication on the Internet) and my online journalism internships, I have developed a desire for online journalism as well. I have learned a lot about journalism and what it takes to succeed in this field, and I think I’m ready to take on the challenge by pursuing a media career.
