When I'm not in class or at work...I'm probably still at work, just not working.
Deja Brew functions as the unofficial headquarters for The Fine Print, the new publication that I am involved with. The Fine Print has given me an outlet for my love of print design and also the opportunity to write. The image to the right is the front cover of our second issue. We also have a website that I encourage you to visit: thefineprintuf.org (the link will open up in a new window).
Besides print design, I enjoy composing musical parodies a la Weird Al. It's something that I have always enjoyed, and probably take too seriously. I have been known to write down and save my lyrics. My current project is a "brewsical." Most likely stemming from the fact that I spend most of my time at Deja Brew, and because a lot of interesting things happen at a 24/7 establishment, I have already have written several song-and-dance parodies about the going-ons of Deja Brew. I should mention that I never set out to write a song. Songs seem to spontaneously come to me, usually while pouring a cup of coffee and the like.
Other interests of mine include sewing, cooking, baking, most anything "vintage" or "retro," especially music and collectables and reading. My friends often joke that I am a "soccer mom" and a "granny." I suppose it's true, and I no longer get offended by the description. Instead, I embrace it.
