Work and Research Experience:
August 2003- present Database management assistant; used Microsoft Access to manage two large databases for the Natural Resources Conservation Service, a branch of the USDA; prepared spreadsheets and charts using Microsoft Excel to monitor toxins in fish populations in Lake Apopka.
January 2003- present Research assistant in mass communications; worked with a team of graduate and undergraduate students to design studies of the effect of online media on political participation; collected and analyzed data using statistical software SPSS.
May- August 2002 Editorial intern, Oxendine Publishing; wrote articles for "Florida Leader" and "Student Leader" magazines on various leadership and student government issues
May- July 2002 Public relations writer, University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Science news desk; prepared press releases for UF scientists
