I am a senior at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Almost every semester, my friends and I have gone on at least 3 road trips. We always have a blast, so I thought I would try sharing my advice.
The college years are an ideal time to go on road trips. During college, it's easy to just get a group of friends together and decide to go out of town for the weekend on the spur of the moment. Actually, the spontaneity is a big part of the thrill of road trips. At this time in a person's life, there are no authorities to ask permission or to worry, no career responsibilities and no family to look after. It's good to experience a change of scenery to avoid monotony and boredom. I personally have taken full advantage of the opportunity to take road trips in college. Being that my friends and I are on a tight budget, but yet are somewhat high-maintenance, we probably take road trips that are a little different than most people our age.
On this site, you can find out my advice on planning economical, yet adventurous road trips. You can find ideas on what to do once you arrive at your destination. I have also included information about some of the specific road trips I have gone on throughout my four years of college.
