That's me on the far right in my flower fairy costume during Mardi Gras 2002.
I was born and raised in Slidell, La., a town about 30 miles north of New Orleans. So, I didn't go far from home for college when I attended Tulane University.
Newspapers and photography have been my life for more than 10 years now. For that reason, I moved to Lake City, Fl., about five years ago for a job at that humble town's local paper.
In 2000, I hung that up to become a Gator. I attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, where I am pursuing a master's degree in journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism.
I am looking for a newspaper job and freelance gigs and trying to write my thesis now.
For fun, I like to cook and dine out. I am a big cinemaphile. My partner Margaret (second from the left in the photo) and I derive infinite amusement from our cats and dog. Tubing and kayaking on the Ichetucknee River are the best way to spend time outdoors. Television also occupies a bit of my free time. South Park, ER, Gilmore Girls and Smallville are my favorites, along with most things on the Discovery Channel.
Many people tell me I have a sick sense of humor.
