2001 -- Intern, Media Relations, Gator Bowl Association
As a media relations intern, my duties ranged from writing press releases to creating
newsletters and press packets. During the week prior to the game, duties included setting up
press conferences and other game related events. Game day activities entailed setting up the
press box and related media duties.
1999 -- Anchor/Reporter, University of Central Florida Knightly News
As part of a news course at the university, I prepared stories from start to finish, including
writing, shooting, and editing. The show was live-to-tape and aired on Time Warner Cable in the
Orlando area.
1999 -- Intern, Central Florida News 13
My duties at Central Florida News 13 ranged from assisting reporters to maintaining the
assignment. While assisting reporters, I was able to go on location to shoot stories and also
put together the finished product through writing and editing the packages.
1998 -- Intern, Nickelodeon studios Florida
While at Nickelodeon Studios, I learned the positions of director, assistant director,
and floor manager. During the taping of a pilot episode of Double Dare 2000, I held the position
of assistant director.
Education
2000-2002 -- Graduate Student, University of Florida
Currently studying to receive a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication with a
specialization in Sports Communication.
1996-1999 -- Bachelor of Arts in Radio/Television Broadcasting, University of Central Florida
Was named to the Dean's List on several occasions. Graduated with a 3.4 GPA. Actively involved
in the university's Student Alumni Association, an organization for both scholastic and
community outreach programs such as Toys for Tots and Volunteer UCF. Relevant course load
included TV News, Public Relations, Marketing, and Sports History.
1992-1996 -- College Preparatory Diploma, St. Augustine High School
Graduated with Honors and received the Florida Academic Scholarship for college.
Was captain of the cheerleading squad and statistician for the varsity baseball team.
Received the "Cindy Wilbur Award" for cheerleading, academic, and personal achievements.
