Brian and I spent a weekend in a bed and breakfast, the Hoyt House, in Fernandina two years ago. It's also the place where we caught the ferry to Cumberland Island on the night Brian proposed...but that's another story.
The charm of Fernandina is its shops, but it's also very close to Amelia Island for those that can afford to stay there (not me!).
This is a great destination for a quick get away while you're visiting us. You should be able to see everything in a day.
Directions --
Take I-95 north to exit 129, Amelia Island. Make a right and follow the road all the way to the ocean. You'll run right into Fernandina.

Visit St. Augustine, Jekyll Island, Fernandina Beach, or Charleston.
