Title: Staff writer. Paper: Gator Times (circulation 30,000)
Dates: August 2000 - Present
Duties: As a staff reporter for the Gator Times, it is my duty to cover the Florida men's basketball team and their opponents in the Southeastern Conference. I write columns, game stories, features and previews as well as injury reports and updates. My main focus is basketball, but I have also written articles on other University of Florida sports including football, baseball and golf. This job has helped me learn to write on deadline and hone my writing skills. Articles I have written on Gator athletics can often be viewed in the sports section of the Gator Times website.
Title: Sports Editor. Magazine: Clematis Magazine (circulation 10,000)
Dates: September 1998 - May 2000
Duties: I worked closely with the Publisher and Editor-In-Chief Bobby Zeitler on issues related to the sports world and wrote a bi-monthly column on several aspects related to sports. This job helped me hone my writing skills.
Title: Intern/Assistant office manager. Mass Mutual Insurance
Dates: Summer 1998.
Duties: My job was to file and detail insurance policies, and to fix any errors the insurance agent made on the policy.
