Pick up any mainstream travel book and you are sure to find a great deal of fantastic monuments and historically significant buildings to visit. But after studying abroad for a semester and working in and visiting a variety of U.S. cities during college, I have found that it is the sharing of traditions that is most memorable.
Adapting to a Culture
The sharing of traditions requires you to let down your guard and be open to trying new things. In doing so, I find that you can connect with people on a deeper level. Some of my favorite traveling memories stem from my experiences with people rather than typical tourist attractions.
