Reading

I hate to admit it, but I’m a sucker for ‘chick lit.’ The books are funny, honest and always an easy read. Some of my favorites include Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger and Megan McCafferty’s Sloppy Firsts series. I can also be a sci-fi nerd every now and then. I love pretending that these worlds actually exist (and of course that I’m an integral part of them). My all time favorite series is J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, but I also love J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Sadly, I’m not as well versed in the classics as I’d like to be, but I could read Ayn Rand’s Anthem and Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre a million times without getting bored. Some other authors I can always count on to entertain me include Michael Connelly, Bryce Courtenay and Nicholas Sparks.

Being Outdoors

I get bored sitting inside all day, so if the weather is nice, I’ll likely being doing something outdoors. Growing up in Southwest Florida, I inherently love the beach and going out on the boat. In fact, the beach is probably my favorite place to be and whenever I’m home I spend all my free time there. Whether it’s noon on a hot summer day or sunset in January, I always find the sand and water relaxing and beautiful.

Sports

I swam competitively from the age of 5 all the way through high school, so swimming is hands down my favorite sport. I also played volleyball, basketball and ran track when I was younger and I enjoy watching pretty much any sport, with the exception of golf. Like 99 percent of Gainesville and the Gator Nation, I love Gator football.

Movies

My friends make fun of me, but I would love nothing more than to be a serious movie buff. I have a growing list of both new releases and classics that I’m dying to see. My list of favorites is always changing and growing but I’ve seen each of the following at least 5 times: Garden State, V for Vendetta, Lord of the Rings, American History X, The Motorcycle Diaries, Say Anything, Almost Famous and The Princess Bride.
