Hey, I'm Bree. I am a junior at the University of Florida with a major in journalism and a minor in costume design. I am from North Florida and I miss the beach breeze when I am in Gainesville.
My major is so much fun! I always wanted to be a journalist, but I wasn't 100 percent sure until I got to UF. I am always busy writing articles and I work for two publications right now. I am a staff writer for Newsies, an online newspaper. We have not been able to get a lot of stories out this semester because we are working on getting a new Web site and things like that, but it is a daily newspaper blog. I also write for BlackListed Magazine. I have a weekly column on self-esteem for black women. I also write the theater reviews. The magazine has two printed issues this semester and everything else is posted online.
In addition the writing for publications, I am the manager of Hands Down, a hip hop dance team at the University of Florida. We are a competitive team and have placed well in several campus competitions. We are planning a dance showcase right now, which will feature more than 10 other dance teams.
I am the biggest Hello Kitty freak you will ever meet, but you would not know it to look at me. My whole room is full of Hello Kitty things and I would never want to know how much money I have spent on the habit. I started watching it when I was in elementary school and it is just something I never grew out of. My friends find it amusing.
You can find out everything else you need to know about me by checking out the rest of the Web site.
