Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why do you have this Web site?
A: Because it is a requirement of my Communication on the Internet class. Other than that, though, I took an interest in creating it because I wanted to learn more about coding a Web site by hand and learning what goes into the creation of even a simple site rather than simply using a program to make a Web site for me.
Q: What are your favorite sports teams?
A: Well, I’m contractually obligated to no longer be a Gators fan since I cover the teams, so scratch that one off the list. In the NFL, it’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though I also like the Tennessee Titans. In the NBA, it’s the Orlando Magic with no one else even close by. In the MLB, it’s the Tampa Bay Rays, and yes, I was a fan even when they were a complete joke of a franchise. In the NHL, I guess it’s the Tampa Bay Lightning, but I really don’t follow the NHL enough to care.
Q: Why sports journalism?
A: I love sports and I love writing. Mixing the two together seemed like a great idea, and it’s worked out pretty well for me so far. There’s something about telling a story that no one has fully heard before – or telling a different side of that same story – that really interests me.
Q: Have you ever interviewed Tim Tebow?
A: No, so stop asking.
Q: Is this seat taken?
A: If I’m not sitting in it or making an obvious attempt to keep you as far away from me as possible, then no.
Q: What’s your favorite monologue from any of the Mighty Ducks movies?
A: Well, I’m glad you asked.
“It's easy to be confident when you have control of the puck. It's very, very difficult to keep that confidence when you gotta take whatever strange bounces life throws your way. Don't be careless, but don't be too careful either. You cannot be afraid to lose! That's how you gain the confidence to attack the game when the puck isn't yours. That's how you attack life... even when you think you don't have any control. And that's how you play real defense.” -Coach Orion in D3: The Mighty Ducks
