Hello! I'm a second year Journalism and Theater major at the University of Florida. I'm not entirely sure what I want to concentrate on, though. Perhaps, I'll end up doing layouts and graphic design in magazines. I guess I'm just trying a little bit of everything and seeing what I like and what I don't. On the other hand, I could just bag myself a rich husband and be a lazy trophy wife. But, I guess I'll consider that option when I'm living in a cardboard box.
I could tell you I'm a very lovely person, but I guess that would seem like bragging. I actually really hate people that like to write about how AWESOME and AMAZING and FRIENDLY because it's frankly annoying. Plus, most of the time, it's a huge LIE! But I digress. I guess I'm a little cool once you get to know me. And even though I'm relatively quiet, I do tend to throw the occasional one-line zingers! I guess that's all the bragging I'll do right now.

I was born in Antofagasta, Chile on March 19, 1987, the same day Pope John Paul II came to Chile, so I guess that means I'm blessed or whatever. Chile is that lovely anorexically skinny country on your right with the beautiful landscape, friendly people and the best food in the world (yes, I mean it.) I lived in Antofagasta for about six years until my parents decided to seek better career opportunities in the United States. So, we first moved to Lubbock, Texas where I learned English by translating my Little Mermaid storybook from English to Spanish using my mother's translating machine. In all honesty, I think I was more interested in playing around with the machine than learning English. Anyway, I was soon fluent in English. Then, my family moved to Clovis, New Mexico where there were tumbleweeds, tornadoes, dandelions and that's pretty much it. Pretty soon, we moved to Lakeland, Florida where my family has lived for about 10 years.
I was in the International Baccalaureate program at Bartow High School. Four years of constant work paid off when I graduated with the diploma. It was worth it because I came to the University of Florida with over 30 credits and could easily double major in whatever I wanted. I picked theatre because I really enjoy all aspects of it. For my second major, I picked journalism because... it was the only thing I could honestly see myself doing in the future. I actually wish we had the option to get a degree in everything. This way we wouldn't be pressured to pick a specific major.

I'm really close to my family, especially my younger sister. I guess it must be the Latino influence. I like spending time at the dinner table when I'm home and talking to them for three hours, plus another hour while cleaning the dishes. We have arguments, like every other family, but they tend to pass rather quickly. My sister is actually the one that introduced me to some of my likes and obsessions which we can talk about for hours and hours.
I love all of my friends. They're all amazing. They all once used to live in Polk County... Now they're all sadly spread apart from Sarasota/Miami/Ft. Myers to Gainesville and all the way to Tennessee! However, I still cherish every one of them. Admittedly, I don't have as many "friends" compared to some other people, but I've always been a believer of quality rather than quantity.
So take that! All you people with 5 million facebook friends! Ha!
