    • Work Experience

  • May-August 2006: Reporter, The Bradenton Herald.
    • Covered city government, cops, courts and education extensively. Wrote occasional features and business stories. Emphasis on generating original story ideas and competition with other daily papers.

  • May-August 2005: Camp Director, The Manatee County Family YMCA.
    • Planned, scheduled and implemented summer camp activities for 120 children and 10 full time counselors. Responsible for communication with parents both in person, over the phone and through written reports.


    Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer programs: SpeedWriter, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop.

  • Trained in: reporting, editing, writing for the World Wide Web, features and magazine writing, photography, fact finding.
