My name is Ana Camila Herrera and I am a second-year journalism student at the University of Florida. I was born in Bogota, Colombia and lived there until my family moved to the United States when I was 5 years old. Since then I've lived in Orange County, California (unfortunately--or should I say fortunately-- I don't remember it being anything like on TV) and Miami, but I consider Pembroke Pines, a city a bit north of Miami, my American home. I say "American home" because I still consider Bogota to be my home as well.

If I had to pick three things I love, it would have to be: music, traveling and the Florida Gators. (In no particular order, as it was hard enough to just narrow those three down.)

When I was in high school, my social life pretty much revolved around going to concerts and singing my heart out to melodramatic lyrics from heartbroken heartthrobs. These days, I still love going to concerts but I consider crowd-surfing more of a liability than a pleasure. What can I say? I guess I'm getting old.

I suppose my love for travel developed from moving around a bit while growing up. I've done the whole "backpack through Western Europe" thing and "road trip across the East Coast" thing, but I think of these two "things" as just the beginning. I would love to visit every continent at least once.

And finally, my love for the Florida Gators is stemmed in, well, being a Gator! I haven't missed a home football game yet since I've been a student (and the plan is to never miss one!). I also consider the night we won the NCAA Basketball Championship as probably one of the best nights of my life. Can't wait till we do it in football ;).
