To get away from my hectic class schedule, I enjoy many different hobbies.

- SEWING
I love to sew. My mother has sewn for our family for as long as I can remember, and she passed this great gift on to me. Like my mom, when I got married, I made my own bridesmaid dresses. For my latest project, I'm making three more bridesmaid dresses for my friend, Lynn.
Check out these Web sites for your own sewing needs:
- RustyZipper.com's vintage sewing patterns search engine is awesome! You can also find incredble vintage fabric and clothing on their site.
- The Fabric Club has all sorts of fabrics for all sorts of crafts.
- Jo-Ann Fabric's site allows you to search for all kinds of sewing related supplies.

- CROCHET
I began crocheting about two years ago because I wanted to be able to give homemade afghans and baby blankets as gifts to family and friends.
These are some helpful crochet sites:
- The Smart Yarns pages provide yarns, projects, and other nifty stuff.
- Lion Brand Yarn sells many differet types of yarn and tools for all sorts of crafts.
- Martha (not Martha Stewart) provides a large amount of crochet related links. Her flower patterns are incredible.

- MUSIC
What would life be like without music? I can't imagine. My taste in music runs the gammut--from The Andrews Sisters to The Misfits. I'll listen to just about anything, and I'll dance to anything with a beat. If there's music in the air, some part of my body is moving.
Here are some links to a few of my favorite bands' sites:
- Depeche Mode has been playing on my stereo forever. I've been listening to them since I first became conscious of music, and they are, by far, number one on my favorites list.
- Bare Naked Ladies soothes the savage beast and chases away the blues.
- Dead Milkmen is silly punk rock at its best.
- Weezer just makes me happy.
- Mos Def is a hip-hop bodhisattva, deeply intelligent and highly entertaining.

- TATTOOS
I've always been interested in body art. Getting tattooed has become a hobby for me. It's painful, but I love it. There seems to be something therapeutic about it, which I guess comes from the thrill of being able to control your body's reaction to pain.

- SPIRITUALITY
I've spent a great deal of time pondering the meaning of life, and I've come to the conclusion that no one alive will ever truly know what it is. I've always been impressed by the variety of religions on our planet, and Buddhism in particular has provided a great deal of guidance to me.
The Tibetan diety known as Green Tara is of special interest to me. She strives to end suffering in the world and provides her followers with strength and wisdom. For a great article on this goddess, go to Exotic India.
