When Steve Spurrier was hired as head football coach at the University of Florida in 1990, even the most optimistic of Gators couldn't have predicted the level of success Florida would attain in the coming decade. Going into his twelth season at his beloved alma mater, Spurrier has led the Gators to a national title and six Southeastern Conference titles. The Gators became just the sixth major college program in history to win 100 games in a decade. Florida's success under Spurrier since 1990 has been so spectacular that it has resulted in the program being labeled a "dynasty" by the NCAA in its annual record book publication.
