Being an Air Force brat, I've had the privilege to travel and live all over the world. I've shopped along the crowded streets of Tokyo and snorkeled with sea turtles in Hawaii.
But there's one place I always want to go back to: South Korea.
My mother is from South Korea, and we've been going there every other summer since I was born. At first the culture shock was unbearable because we would stay there for two months at a time. Over the years I've come to realize that Korea is like a second home to me.
I love Korean culture and the people there. It's always nice to escape America for a while and immerse myself in something completely different. I crave the sights and smells of Korea whenever I'm not there. And it never gets old because each trip over there is a little different each time. Last summer I taught an English class at an after school academy, and a couple years before I saw Korea play in the World Cup with my friends in the streets of Seoul. Just imagine a sea of screaming fans all dressed in red. It really is an exciting country. I should write a book about my Korean adventures.
