Cover Letter
When I was 8 years-old I started my own talk show -in the shower. Four years later I was nominated for sixth grade class delegate. I won. At the time, I could practice in spanish and english. Two years later I added french. Now Im 20 years old studying Journalism at the University of Florida, ready to leave the show and the delegacy behind and enter the professional communication world so I can start doing some learning. At this stage in my life I wouldn't know how to chose between all the fields I could work in. When I was in high school I developed a thing for writing after my first literature class. Later, I took basic photography lessons, and now Im working on a minor in business. In other words, I could easily see myself writing, photographing, managing or designing for any publication. Im sure Ill find my calling in time. For now, I need to start working the field so I can figure it out. Im a fast learner. By my second week working at Starbucks, my first job, I was already on top of everything. My manager was shocked. The same way, on my second day at the Survey Research Center, my second job, I was being praised for how much better Id gotten. Plus, the first time I played Tetris Wii with my boyfriend I lost every single time. By the third time, there was no way he could beat me. (He still cant.) My lack of professional experience might be a concern. But I have to start somewhere. Lets start working together so we can fix that right away. Sincerely, Maria V. Linares.
