Project #1: Noir

I have found that film often influences the direction in which I take many of my doodles. Whether it is a spaghetti western or a slasher flick, each film type, or genre, has its own unique style that I enjoy drawing inspiration from. However, while all genres are certainly great fun to replicate, there is a specific style that I seem to always find myself imitating more than others, a style that just cannot be outclassed in quality ... the genre known as film noir. Its unique use of high-contrast lighting, stylistic camera angles, and ever-suspenseful, ever-convoluted plots help make this genre instantly recognizable.

In tribute to this widely celebrated genre, I have recently begun work on a full-length graphic novel featuring an extensive series of my digitalized noir doodles. Though it is still a work in progress, it is my pleasure to give you a sneak peek!
