The Wonderful World of Naudia

{ I've Been Everywhere, Man }

Okay, maybe not everywhere. But a lot of places. For the first seven years of my life, I didn't leave the United States, but after that, it's been a whole other story.

Heathrow's Terminal 5

The countries outside of the U.S. that I've been to include (the one's I've lived in are in bold):

Bird stealing fries

And now, some fun facts! I witnessed a shooting in Turkey, lived among very old ladies in Cyprus, slid down a ramp of ice in Qatar, was able to capture photographic evidence of a seagull absconding with somebody's french fries in the Bahamas, and did the limbo in Mexico.

While I have been to many different countries, I spent the majority of my 22 years on this earth in the dry, barren kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Yes, that Saudi Arabia. The one with the sand and the camels and the women in black and whatnot. And before we get carried away with ourselves, let me stress a couple of points. No, camel is not the main mode of transportation. No, I didn't live in a tent.

But yes, McDonald's in Saudi Arabia does deliver. It's horrifying and amazing all at the same time. If you're craving a Big Mac or McChicken at 10 p.m., you don't have to go to the calorie-filled treats. They can come to you. How great is that?!

And while I hate packing more than... just about anything in the world, there's something great about the energy of airports, especially international transit lounges. They give me the chance to people-watch, coming up with stories behind travelers and trying to figure out where they're headed. And who doesn't adore duty-free shopping?

So as much as I love being in new, exciting locations, getting there is always half the fun... and about three quarters of the battle, since my luggage and I never seem to arrive at the same place at the same time.
