Psychedelic Self-Portrait

This is Robbie Hilson Online, the first place on the Web devoted solely to
yours truly. Keep reading and the ego-stroking gets even more nauseating.

I kid. I kid. Just jokes.

Actually, this is my maiden attempt at creating a one-stop shop for all your, um, Robbie needs (geeze, websites are a pretty vain endeavor) and all my creative loafing. If all goes according to plan, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll see a couple of cool pictures, and if you, brave reader, happen to be the great Dr. Carlson, you'll give me an A. Alright, so now that we've laid out my expectations for this site, let me explain what you're about to get yourself into.

Links up top and down below provide navigation to a series of endlessly intriguing Web pages - hobbies, work, and travel, where I name drop a bunch of exotic locales, like Fort Lauderdale, and even display a photo of a kangaroo. But before checking out those pages, let me first tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 22 at the time of writing (23 by the time this puppy goes live), from Miami, and a first-year, journalism grad student at the University of Florida - a basketball hotbed, a football Mecca. I really love music (I'll hold off for the hobbies page), long sentences, the Miami Hurricanes, hanging in Library West with all the beautiful people, black jeans, and - if you're a girl - this band. My three very best friends are, in no particular order, Philip Kates, Jennifer Jurney and Ashley Londsdale, aka "Bones." And if you're reading this and thinking to yourself, "Hey what about...!?" feel free to add yourself to the list as well, but first make sure to find me on Facebook so I know that we're actually friends.

My family is also worth introducing at this point, partly because I want to fill another paragraph and partly because they're pretty cool. My parents, Robb and Terri, live in the land of ill earthquakes (a little indie band referenceBranden Daniel by Robbie Hilson for you) way out in California's East Bay. My father pays the bills as a banker. He loves The Beatles, college football and barbeque, and swears he's going to drive a Porsche someday... I have my doubts. My mother, on the other hand, pays no bills, but by all accounts, is a bang-up teacher at her Bible study. She gives these killer lectures where everybody starts crying and hugging. Afterward, she'll be like, "What? Little, old me?" Don't let her modesty fool you - she knows she's good. And then there's my sister. She's not too interested in school, this one, but she might not have to be. She paints, she draws, she makes my apartment look like the Louvre. She has more creativity in her shoes than I have in my whole body. Seriously, though, her shoes are awesome.

So now that we're familiar with each other, feel free to roam around. Look, but don't touch. And click, too. I'm a little link-happy because I love this "h ref" command. If you're thinking to yourself, "'H ref?' What?" well welcome to my world. Enjoy.
