Welcome
My name is Sixtine Gurrey, and you are getting a first-hand look at the real me.Let's start with the basics.
I'm a sophomore journalism student at the University of Florida. I'm also working on a minor in French and in European Union studies.
I was born in the British Isles. I moved to Paris, France and lived there until I was four. I've lived in South Florida ever since. I can speak French fluently, and I hope to use it in my career in future.
I love living in Gainesville and going to UF. What they say about college is true. It really is the "time of your life."
Before I came to Gainesville for my freshman year, I read "This Side of Paradise" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I fell in love with this book because Fitzgerald described college as a time for us to learn as much as possible about life and about our passions.
"Here was a new generation, shouting the old cries, learning the old creeds, through a reverie of long days and nights; destined finally to go out into that dirty gray turmoil to follow love and pride; a new generation dedicated more than the last to the fear of poverty and the worship of success "
This book became my guidebook for college.
This Web site is what I have done with my college experience since I got here.
