Football
Ever since I left Pittsburgh, my hometown, I began searching for something to connect me to it. I finally found it in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Watching the Steelers play football allowed me to feel closer to Pittsburgh. I began watching their every move. From watching the Steelers play I fell in love with football. I became somewhat of an expert in the rules of the NFL. For the last eight years I have become a self-educated sports fan.
Reading
When I was a little girl I became lost, lost in books. I would volunteer at the school library and try to read as many books as I possibly could. I have fallen in love with books. Some of my favorites are the Harry Potter series, the Twilight series, Lord of the Flies, the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Atlas Shrugged, Anthem and many more. My goal this summer is to find a list of the classics and read as many as I possibly can. Reading is a my passion.
Design
One of my favorite things to do is to design pages on Adobe InDesign. I love having an assignment to create a flier or a news page. When I am alone with InDesign I become creative. I have never been a creative person except when I am in front of a computer. I have designed pages on the dangers of myspace, safe driving, self-image and many other topics. I hope to become an editor one day and be able to design again for a publication.
