Here are some of my tips for traveling to the Bahamas

Nassau beach

1. This one seems like a no-brainer, but be sure to pack, if nothing else, a bathing suit, flip flops and a pair of sunglasses.

2. Definitely go on a snorkeling trip. I went on one with my brothers and uncle, and we snorkeled some of the clearest waters around. We got to snorkel at a shipwreck, and we also had an opportunity to feed sharks in the wild. It was enjoyable and exhilerating.

3. Enjoy the local food. Don't just eat at commercial restaurants or chains, find a local place to eat a meal or two. The best place I ate at while in Nassau was a hole-in-the-wall place that had some of the best conch fritters and fresh, fried whole snapper I have ever had. We wouldn't have even tried the place if the owner hadn't stopped us on the street one dat and insisted we come in for a bite to eat. To say it was a good decision would be an understatement.

4. Enjoy the beaches. This one's another no-brainer. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and you can see a picture of one of Nassau's beaches from my hotel room. It was one of the nicest beaches I have been to, and I'm from the Miami area, so I can appreciate a nice beach.
