Hobbies
I have hundreds of hobbies, but for simplicity's sake, I'll only list a handful of them on my personal web page.
Athletics
I picked up my love for athletics at an extremely young age. By age 3, I was playing soccer and T-ball, and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. As I continued to grow and develop, I played a multitude of sports, including baseball, basketball, football, ice hockey, soccer, swimming and track.
High School
In high school, I played three varsity sports: Football, Soccer and Track & Field.
Football
While I thoroughly enjoyed football, I only spent a year and a half playing varsity. I played cornerback for my high school team during my freshman year and during the beginning of my freshman year. After that, I gave up football at the high school level to pursue soccer full-time.
I frequently regretted the decision to quit football, as the sport gave me the biggest adrenaline rush of any of the sports I played. However, I did enjoy my time tailgating and cheering on some of my former teammates.
Soccer
Soccer was undoubtedly my best sport. I played almost every position during my high school career, but ended up finally settling into a defensive midfield role in my final two seasons.
My high school team was phenomenal and won the District outright three of the four years that I was a member of the team. The fourth year, we split the District title with the eventual State Runners-Up.
I played on the varsity team only during my junior and senior seasons, as my high school's soccer team was one of the elite programs in the nation. My senior year, we made a run to the 5A State Championship, before ultimately losing to the Louisiana State Champions and the second-ranked program in the nation.
My only real regret from my time playing soccer was that I suffered an injury in the first playoff game of my senior season. I tore one of the anterior ligaments in my ankle and was forced to miss the entire playoff run, including a State Championship appearance, recovering from the injury.
Track & Field
I initially began running Track during my freshman year, when my soccer coach recommended it to help improve my running technique. I had always been fast, but had very poor running form.
I quickly learned to perfect my running form and immediately made the varsity Track team as a true freshman. I ran the 110-M Hurdles and the 300-M Hurdles during my first year on the varsity squad.
Throughout the course of my four year varsity stint on the track team, I ran every single sprinting event at a varsity track meet. I ran the 100-M Dash, the 200-M Dash, the 400-M Dash, the 4x100-M Relay, the 4x200-M Relay and the 4x400-M Relay.
During my junior season, I broke my high school's record in the 300-M Hurdles and qualified for the State Regional Meet. I missed the majority of my senior season recovering from the torn ankle ligament that kept me out of the Soccer State Championship that year.
College
In college, I have played only intramural sports, as it was not my goal to pursue a professional or collegiate career. Now, my attention has turned towards fandom.
Fandom
Well before arriving at the University of Florida, I was a huge fan of college football. After arriving, that interest exploded into full-fledged allegiance.
Now that I'm a student at the University of Florida, my interest and fanhood has increased exponentially. I've been to every home football game since arriving on campus as a freshman, and have been to several away games, including the 2007 game at LSU and the 2007 and 2008 games against Georgia.
In addition to my love for college football, I've also been a huge college basketball fan, supporting the Florida Gators, despite two very lackluster NIT seasons. I've been a Rowdy Reptile for the past two years and have attended just about every home game.
Websites
If there's one thing I spend more time doing than playing sports and watching sports, it's surfing the internet. Now, I admittedly spend most of this time researching my sports and staying up to date with the latest news.
However, over the past year my interest in the Internet and making money off websites I create has really increased. You can find more information about this huge hobby of mine by visiting my Websites Page.
