Singapore

Singapore Streetsign My mother's family is from the small country of Singapore. Though I was born in the States, I moved to Singapore as a baby and lived there for roughly half of my childhood years. Even after moving back to the States midway through elementary school, I continued to visit Singapore every year during school summer vacations. Even though I've haven't lived there for a little over 10 years, Singapore is still a very special place to me, and I still call it home.

In the future, I hope to move back to Singapore and launch a successful career in journalism there. In the meantime, I'm working hard at UF studying Mandarin Chinese, which I began learning during my school in Singapore. Being able to speak Chinese can only be an asset as it not only is the language of my heritage, but it is also one of the official languages of Singapore.
