During the summer of 2008, I traveled overseas for the first time. My mom and I visited my brother, Michael, who has taught English in China since April 2006. Among other things, during our three-week visit, we saw the Great Wall of China and the 2008 Olympic stadiums Beijing, the terracotta warriors in X’ian, the famous Pearl TV Tower in Shanghai, and Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. We also visited Hang Zhou and Donguan, a small city outside of Hong Kong where my brother lives.

About a month after we returned from China, and just before my class at the University of Westminster began, my mom and I spent four days in Paris. We saw Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Pantheon, where Voltaire and Marie Curie lay to rest.

These are a couple pictures I took from the bus tour we took through the city.

After Paris, I studied for three weeks in London. Each weekend, we traveled to different cities in England to learn about the culture and history of the country. We saw Stonehenge, Bath, Brighton, Greenwich and Windsor Castle, to name a few. Below are some of the pictures I took at Stonehenge and Greenwich, the only place on Earth where you can stand in the two hemispheres at once.
