Welcome to a quick encounter with Lauren Baker. This site offers a run-down of pastimes and places that have captured my interest and helped to shape my outlook on life.
A brief background sketch:
I come from a family made of both rural Floridian potato farmers and Connecticut yankees. But a native Floridian, I have lived in Jacksonville, Fla., since turning six months old. Growing up, I cultivated my love of the outdoors and writing, partly in thanks to a family who bought me journals, read my essays and told me to stop watching television and go play outside.
Now, a 22-year-old senior at the University of Florida, I am an outdoors enthusiast seeking degrees in journalism and English , with a minor in Italian studies. I am looking forward to graduation and like to imagine the world as my workplace, jumping at travel opportunities when possible. As I prepare to step into the work force this December, I’m searching for my niche in a changing multimedia field. This Web site is one way I’m exploring the dimensions of the Internet to express myself.
