Michelle Ashworth's Family Page

Family First

My parents,
Debbie and Buddy Grout, at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Gainesville, Fla.

Family is very important to me. It's very hard being three hours away from my parents now while I'm in school. On the plus side, my mom is a computer programmer, and she will be so happy to know I'm finally learning how to build my own Web site.

My dad just got a new job as a physical education coach at Oak Park Elementary School in Titusville, Fla. It's a great school, not only because I went there, but also because it's close to home. I'm so happy for him!

The New Addition

Steven Ashworth and me kissing right after our wedding ceremony

No, I'm not talking about a baby. I'm talking about a husband. Getting married is a huge, life-changing decision that should never rest on the shoulders of young people. That being said, I got married to Steven Ashworth when I was 19 years old. (He was 20 years old.) Now, I know what you're thinking. But as of now, we are still together, and everything is going great for us.

Steven went all out for the proposal. He rented a catamaran and proposed out on the water at sunset. C'est romantique! We tied the knot in Titusville, Fla., at the Indian River City United Methodist Church. Our reception was held at the Royal Oak Country Club, with about 150 friends and family members partying in our honor. We recently celebrated our third wedding anniversary, and I couldn't be happier. We bought our own townhouse upon arriving in Gainesville and hope to sell it for a profit years down the road.
