Hobbies
Between classes, I keep myself pretty busy. Here are some of my hobbies:
- I am the president of the improv and sketch comedy troupe at UF, Theatre Strike Force. I spend most of my time with TSF, planning events and conductinig business. I love doing improv comedy because it keeps me on my toes and it's an intense adrenaline rush. It's a lot like sports, but it requires less actual skill. Under TSF, I do "short-form" improv, "long-form" improv, and musical improv. I'm also a sketch writer and performer. Yeah, I'm obsessed.
- I write a weekly humor column for The Independent Florida Alligator. It's nice to have another creative outlet besides improv, and I can actually take what I'm writing here with me in my professional portfolio!
- I love playing the piano. I took lessons as a child, but I never practiced. In high school, I decided to take lessons again, but this time I actually took it seriously. I'm nothing special, but I like to figure out the piano arrangements to some of my favorite Coldplay songs.
- If comedy was my first passion, politics is definitely my second. The American political system is one of the most backwards and complicated ones in the world. I am therefore obsessed with it. I can't get enough politics. You can imagine how crazy I get over political comedy, such as Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.
- And of course, one cannot be a UF student without being obsessed with the Florida Gators. When it comes to college football, I can almost pose as someone interested in sports. Go Gators!
