When visiting Paris, you can't miss The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre Museum, Les Invalides, Avenue des Champs-Élysées, and The Cathedral of Notre Dame.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the main symbols of Paris. It was built in 1889 to celebrate a hundred years of The French Revolution. From the top of the tower you can enjoy a fantastic view of the city. Although it may seem scary to go to the top, do it! You won't regret it. To see more information about fees and restaurants at the Eiffel Tower go to The Eiffel Tower.

The Louvre Museum began as a fortress built in the 12th century. After the French Revolution, the building was transformed into a museum. The Louvre Museum has thousands of paintings and sculptures. Because it's difficult to see them all, focus on the modern paintings and Egyptian art. Those areas are the most beautiful. Don't expect too much of "La Mona Lisa." The painting is small and it's hard to appreciate the effects of her eyes because the painting is always surrounded by a lot of people. On the first Sunday of each month, the museum is free. Also, after six p.m. the entrance is free.

Les Invalides are various buildings that function as a hospital, museum, and retired war veterans' center. The museum is famous for having Napoleon Bonaparte's tomb. The area in which the tomb is located has many sculptures and high ceilings painted with religious scenes. I recommend you take many pictures of Napoleon Bonaparte's tomb and pay attention to the decoration of the main building because you won't see this in many places.

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the perfect place to walk during the afternoon. On the avenue, you can enjoy some of the most famous stores and restaurants in Paris. At the end of the avenue, you will see The Arc of Triumph, designed to honor the soldiers who fought for Napoleon. Make sure you get inside of the Arc and then go upstairs to see the view of Champs-Élysées from the Arc.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is impressive. Its sculptures, stained glass windows, and gothic style make the cathedral a remarkable place in Paris. When visiting Notre Dame, try to go there in early morning so you avoid long lines. Take pictures, but don't be loud because some people don't want to be disturbed.
