I'm not a well-seasoned traveler, but one place I do know a lot about is the Northeast, specifically Rhode Island.

I've been there in all seasons, in all weather and in all conditions. I've also probably eaten at every single chowder restaurant in the Ocean State.

Even though it's only about an hour across the entire state, I understand you probably only have time for one destination if you're just stopping in as per my recommendation (likely, as this page will be viewed by millions).

For that reason, I've convieniently provided headers over each section that will direct you using flashy keywords that will appeal to different tastes. Just stop on what catches your eye.

Providence, RI. : James Gandolfini, Schools That Are Colors, Getting Drunk

Outside of Constantino's Venda Ravoli - cityvoter.com

I know your type - you're a hedonist. You saw signifiers for violence and drinking as well as something about colors and decided "I shall read no further".

Well, I won't waste your time and I'll jump right into the good stuff.

First thing, head down to Federal Hill and stop off at Constantino's Venda Ravioli. They serve great caprese and lobster ravs as well as the most beautifully colored Sangria on this Earth (yes, even more colors). All dining is outside so you'll be able to bask in New England summer temperatures as you enjoy your meal.

The store inside Venda's is even better than the restaurant. Grab some olives or other snacky items before you head to your next destination: the RISD art museum.

After getting your fill of Picassos, Renoirs, Lichtensteins, Rothkos and Monets, take a walk to the Brown campus. Lie down on the quad, polish off your olives and Orangina, smoke a Camel or two, and reflect on how lucky you are that Roger Williams fought so hard for separation of church and state. You can also choose to pay homage to this great patriot any time you run into a statue of him (between 2-5 times, in all probability).

For dinner I'd recommend the Blue Grotto but if you're feeling a little on the cheap side, Angelo's.

Grass courts at the Tennis Hall of Fame - salve.edu

If you like tennis, yachts and generally appearing richer than you actually are, you should spend some time in Newport.

Newport is home to the Tennis Hall of Fame (where you can play on grass courts), mansions built in The Guilded Age, a waterfront downtown area, vineyards, fine dining and in the summer, the Newport jazz and folk festivals (think: Dylan going electric).

If you're a fan of shopping, I'm pretty sure this is a good place for that. I've heard good things. The only store I've ever really been in there was a Sunglass Hut but the guy was like, wearing a suit. So I know it's nice.

Future Plans: I-95, Panhandling, Chiropractor Appointments

me and brett

To make up for my unsatisfying lack of travel, I have made plans with my best friend Brett for a Winter Break trip up the East Coast.

Cons of this trip could include: rape, murder, starvation, grand theft auto, and extreme discomfort while sleeping. For more things that can go wrong, visit the Onion's coverage of the nearly completed list of everything that could go wrong.

While these things certainly should be considered, I am going to assume the pros will far outweigh the cons. I look forward especially to New York City; Savannah, Georgia; and to completely skipping over the entire state of Virginia.
